I am registered for the
CPO class, what do I need to bring?
We ask
that all students enrolled in the class bring a
pen, pencil, highlighter, notebook and a
calculator.
Why is a CPO certificate important for operation
of a commercial pool?
By New
Jersey State Bather Code, a Certified Pool
Operator (CPO) needs to be listed with the
Health Department to assume responsibility for
the operation of your aquatic facility. A
certified CPO is needed to obtain licensing of
operation from the Health Department.
Do I have to attend all scheduled classes?
Yes,
you are required to attend all classes.
How long is my CPO certificate valid for?
Once
you complete and pass the CPO exam, your
certificate is valid for 5 years.
My CPO certificate recently expired; do I have
to take the class over again?
Yes,
you are required to take the class again.
In the last 5 years, there have been Federal
changes that affect the operation of swimming
pools. By taking the class, it keeps you
informed of all changes, as well as refreshing
your memory on effective pool operations.
Since I took the CPO class at Candlewood, can I
have the certificate at the end of class?
Candlewood is authorized to host the National
Swimming Pool Foundation (NSPF) Certified Pool
Operator classes. Therefore, all
information pertaining to your certificate comes
directly from the NSPF. However, once the
class is completed, you will be provided a
letter from Kevin Breuche, course administrator
as proof of your enrollment and satisfactory
completion of the course. This letter can
serve as temporary proof of certification until
your complete packet arrives from NSPF to the
address listed on your exam.
What score do I have to get to pass the exam?
You
need to score 80% or better on the exam to
obtain your CPO certification from the NSPF.
What if I don't pass the CPO Exam?
In the
event that you do not score 80% or better on the
exam, you will be allowed to re-take the class
and the exam at no additional cost.
What is your refund policy?
Sorry,
we do not offer refunds on the class.
There are supplies that are order for each
student in the class (i.e. text books,
workbooks, etc).
