Attention: Pool Owners, Operators, and Managers

Certified Pool Operator ( Revised Course and Text book)

New Jersey Recreational Bathing Code mandates that"… the maintenance and mechanical operation of a swimming pool, when open for use, shall be under the supervision of a Certified Pool Operator."

Local and county health inspectors must be able to verify that a CPO (Certified Pool Operator) is actively and daily supervising a pool before a permit will be issued to open and run that swimming pool. The State of New Jersey currently recognizes and accepts as CPO’S those persons who successfully completed a course of training under the auspices of the National Swimming Pool Foundation.

Candlewood Management Services is authorized by the NSPF to provide the opportunity for interested individuals who are seeking certification to take that course of training in order to enable them to meet the state mandate. Additionally, the course provides the technical information and resources to more efficiently operate a pool, with a higher degree of safety.

Public safety and the resulting liability are prime concerns for all who are involved in the operation of pools. The CPO course will enable the person directly supervising a pool and lifeguards to be vigilant to, and exercise the proper precautions for, avoiding any action or lack of action which contributes to the injury of any person using the pool facility.

Full attendance at the course and satisfactorily passing the course examination will result in the issuance of a CPO certificate from the National Swimming Pool Foundation .
